Mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion front man Saido Berahino, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The exciting England Under-21 international has been making a lot of headlines so far in this campaign for the in-form Baggies after an impressive recent run of form in front of goal.

Berahino, 20, has managed to hit the back of the net on six occasions in total so far in just nine matches in all competitions for Steve Clarke’s men, including two strikes in his seven Premier League outings.

And one of those goals was a sensational individual effort that helped beat champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, with Berahino’s current contract at the Hawthorns now set to run out on June 30 2014, the Englishman can start to enter into talk with foreign-based clubs as soon as the winter transfer window starts to open again for business in the new year.

And despite the fact that West Brom are reportedly on the verge of offering the striker a new long-term contract to replace his current £850-per-week deal in the west Midlands, it is understood that the club are only prepared to give Berahino a raise to just £7,000 per week.

As a result, the likes of Monaco, Arsenal and Everton are all believed to be ready to swoop for the player come January.
