La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly nearing a deal to sign Sevilla winger Ivan Rakitic from under the noses of Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United, talkSPORT reports.

Both of the English clubs had been keeping a close watch on the Croatian international, who has been in flying form this season having already found the back of the net nine times across all competitions this season.
The 25-year-old has now entered the final 18 months of his current deal with the Andalusian side, and they are known to be keen to offer him a significant extension.
However, high-flyers Atletico Madrid have been watching him with great interest too, and are set to attempt to lure him to the Spanish capital with the promise of a three year deal, and reports in Spain have suggested that the move is all but done and all that is left to do is have him sign on the dotted line.
Rakitic has steadily grown into one of the club’s finest performers since joining from Schalke in 2011, and he has gone on to score 26 goals in 117 appearances for the club.
