The North London club are keen to strengthen their attack in view of the poor efforts of new signings Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela and want the Serie A star to join the club on a loan deal next month.

The Montenegro international has seen his first team chances limited following the arrival of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente and could well be interested in a new challenge in the Premier League.

The 30 year old has started just four Serie A fixtures this season, despite netting 14 goals in all competitions last term, and is ideally suited to the physical nature of the English top tier.

Emmanuel Adebayor has proven himself worthy of first team action, scoring three goals in his last two fixtures.
