Hull City are readying a £1m bid for Celtic forward Georgios Samaras according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Despite seeing his KC Stadium side smash six past Fulham just a few days ago it appears that Hull City boss Steve Bruce feels his side could still do with more of a cutting edge up front.

28 year old Greek international Samaras will be out of contract in the summer and therefore is available on the cheap in January, though one wonders if an offer of just £1m for the former Man City man would tempt the SPL champions to sell such a crucial member of Neil Lennon’s attack.

Samaras is a fan favourite at Parkhead but looks likely to leave sooner or later with the long haired marksman stating recently;

“I don’t know what the next stage of my career will bring,” Samaras said recently.

“Money has never been a motivating factor in my career because I could have left Celtic and signed for a team with more money. I’ve had offers, most from teams in England, who have offered more money than Celtic.”

Samaras may be tempted by a Premier League return and would be confident of securing regular first team football at Hull City, all the more crucial with the 2014 World Cup finals on the horizon.

Since moving to Glasgow in January 2008, initially on loan, Samaras has racked up 71 goals in 239 appearances.
