Boss Roberto Mancini is willing to offer the 33 year old a two year contract that would see Terry earn £10m tax-free and could perhaps be more appealing than the one year deal he may or may not earn at Chelsea, as is club policy on extensions for players over the age of 30.

Terry has been an ever present under Jose Mourinho and has shown he is still one of the most solid central defensive units in the Premier League but perhaps the chance of a new challenge would tempt the one club man, albeit a one club man who has spent a modicum of time out on loan at Nottingham Forest.

A move to Galatasaray would see Terry reunite with former team-mate Didier Drogba and Mancini is free to enter into negotiations with the Blues star this month.

Terry is into his 16th season in the Chelsea first team set-up and has racked up 601 appearances for the West London side.
