Serie A champions Juventus have emerged as the favourites to now sign unsettled Tottenham Hotspur forward Erik Lamela, although the Italian giants are likely to wait until the end of this season before making their move for the Argentinian, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The 21-year-old’s future at White Hart Lane has been in grave doubt for some time now, with Lamela having found it desperately hard to settle in north London since joining Tottenham from Serie A outfit AS Roma in a club-record deal worth a whopping £30m last summer.

In fact, the Argentina international has so far failed to even find the back of the net for his new team in the Premier League, while in total the attacker has netted just one goal in his 17 matches in all competitions, with that strike coming in the Uefa Europa League.

However, Spurs are understood to be adamant that they want to recoup as much, if not all, of the money that they splashed out on Lamela last year, a fact that has now ruled Inter Milan out of the running for the player, although the Old Lady of Italian do remain keen, with sporting director Fabio Paratici said to be a big admirer of the South American.
