The England Under 21 international may well be ready to make the step up to the English top tier but the Clarets are demanding £7m for the in-form Championship strikers.

Celtic, Crystal Palace, QPR and Fulham are all said to be keen on Ings, who has netted 20 goals in 30 appearances this season, but Burnley would do well to keep hold of the 21 year old as Sean Dyche’s side mount a genuine Premier League promotion challenge.

West Brom have managed just 24 goals in 22 Premier League fixtures and newly appointed boss Pepe Mel could well do with striking additions, especially as veteran Frenchman Nicolas Anelka looks set to be handed a lengthy ban for his recent goal celebration against West Ham.

Ings moved to Turf Moor in a £1m deal back in August 2011 and managed just three goals in 32 Championship appearances last term but has hit an extended run of good form this season.
