The Black Stars are still looking to make additions to their forward line in a bid to make a more meaningful challenge for Champions League football and have targeted the Senegalese international after learning of Newcastle’s attempts to sign Borussia Monchengladbach’s Luuk de Jong.

Cisse has struggled for goals this season and is no longer as highly regarded as he once was when he first joined the club, and an exit from St James’ Park has been mooted for a long time with a return to Germany reported to be a distinct possibility.

However, Besiktas will be hoping to persuade him that his future lies in Turkey if Newcastle manage to sign the Dutch international de Jong, and will go ahead with putting together a lucrative offer to convince him.

Cisse is still under contract with the Magpies until 2017, but has so far only managed to find the back of the net once this term.
