Blues boss Jose Mourinho is still in market for a goal-scorer after replacing Michael Essien with Nemanja Matic, and Griezmann has caught the Special One’s eye.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has scored 12 goals in just 18 La Liga appearances last season and has been a shining light for the Spanish club since breaking into the first team as a teenager.

Griezmann is yet to win a senior cap for Les Blues after being suspended for 13 months following a break of curfew while on duty for the under-21s but the youngster’s ban is now lifted and he could force his way into Didier Dechamps’ thinking ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

With Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres finding to consistently find the net, the Blues are in need of a new striker but Griezmann is primarily a winger and may find himself more in competition with Andre Schurrle and Willian should he move to Stamford Bridge.
