Monaco, Galatasaray, Paris Saint Germain, Fenerbahce and Real Madrid are all providing competition, though, meaning City will have to pull something special out of the bag in order to bring him on board.

However, if they are able to convince him to move to the Etihad Stadium, he will be the fifth player to defect from north London to the Sky Blues behind Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure.

He may still stay with Arsenal too, as his current deal expires in the summer yet the club have offered him a new two year extension worth around £60,000 per week.

But Monaco have already made him an extensive offer worth to be around £120,000 after tax that would net him over £10m stretched over three years.

Galatasaray are also willing to match the £120,000 weekly salary, but over four years with a hefty bonus on top.

Sagna is said to be unhappy to have been on the same contract with the Gunners for the past four years and has yet to be rewarded, whilst the likes of Robin van Persie, Nasri, Clichy, Adebayor, Toure and Cesc Fabregas have all moved on to more lucrative deals elsewhere.
