Chelsea are keen on signing PSV Eindhoven youngster Zakaria Bakkali according to Football Direct News.

The Belgian wonderkid has been in fine form this term and Blues boss Jose Mourinho will look to land the teenager early in the summer transfer window, well aware that a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’ are tracking the young attacker.

Bakkali only turned 18 in January but has racked up 20 appearances in all competitions this term and his form earned him a full call-up to the Belgian national team set-up and could lead to a spot in Marc Wilmots 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Before Bakkali pushes for a move to Stamford Bridge he may want to consider the fate of three of his fellow countrymen.

Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois have struggled to force their way into the Chelsea first team set-up, despite being two of Belgium’s brightest young talents.

Indeed attacker Kevin de Bruyne opted to leave Chelsea for Wolfsburg having failed to secure a regular spot in the West London club’s starting eleven.

Bakkali would do well to balance the chance to make a big move with the need to be playing regularly in order to make the most of his very obvious ability.
