Man United are set to make a big money move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco with David Moyes hoping to lure the Spanish international to Old Trafford.

CaughtOffside understands that Moyes is confident of tempting the former Malaga youngster with the promise of a more prominent role than the one he currently enjoys at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid signed Isco last June but though the 21 year old enjoyed a strong start to the season he has found himself increasingly used in a limited role by boss Carlo Ancelotti, most recently failing to make the starting eleven for the El Clasico encounter on Sunday night.

Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini had also been in the running to sign Isco, having worked with the attacking midfielder at Malaga, but now Moyes is ready to offer £33m in the hope that Real Madrid may consider selling a player who doesn’t appear to be pivotal to Ancelotti’s plans.

Isco has started 16 of Real Madrid’s 29 La Liga fixtures and just half of the club’s Champions League matches, and is said to be frustrated by his role.

Ancelotti has seen his front three of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale help the club to a 31 match unbeaten run, prior to the recent defeat to Barcelona, and the Italian has then used Angel Di Maria more predominantly in the position Isco had filled for much of the campaign.

Isco has started just two La Liga matches in 2014 and Moyes hopes to bring the youngster in to add more creativity to his midfield.

Moyes is still be convinced of Shinji Kagawa’s effectiveness and sees Isco as a more reliable link between midfield and attack, hence his willingness to fork out a big sum for his services.

Despite his best efforts it may prove that Isco simply isn’t a player Ancelotti values as a first team regular and this in turn could harm the playmaker’s chances of forging a significant role in the Spanish national team set-up.

Isco has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 30 appearances in all competitions, of which ten were from the bench.
