Arsenal are preparing for life after Arsene Wenger with the North London club drawing up a list of possible replacement for the French boss according to the Daily Telgraph.

The 64 year old will see his current contract expire this summer but is expected to sign an extension though plans are in place for the day the Gunners replace the long serving manager.

Those on the Emirtes Stadium wish-list include Everton’s Roberto Martinez, Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp and current assistant Steve Bould.

Perhaps the most interesting name on the list comes in the form of Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers with Arsenal said to be impressed by the progress the Anfield side have made under the Northern Irishman.

There’s no denying the positive impact the 41 year old has had on Liverpool since coming in as a replacement for Kenny Dalglish back in June 2012 following a two year spell in charge of Swansea City.

In his first campaign he secured a solid, if not spectacular, seventh place finish in the Premier League but has come on leaps and bounds in 2013/14.

His Liverpool side look a safe bet for securing that all important top four finish and a run of 11 Premier League without defeat has led the Merseyside club to mount a genuine title challenge.

Liverpool are unlikely to consider any approach for Rodgers and it seems unclear as to why the impressive young manager would consider a move to an Arsenal side who have gone eight seasons without silverware.
