Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes star striker Luis Suarez is well on the way to becoming football’s first ever £100m man according to the Sunday Mirror.

The 27 year old has been in stunning form this term, scoring 28 Premier League goals as well as leading the assist making charts, the form that has been the back-bone of Liverpool’s continued title challenge.

Anfield boss Rodgers has been quick to state that the former Ajax man is not for sale but the mere mention of his value will of course lead many to speculate that the Uruguayan has a price-tag, albeit one that would require a massive world record bid to meet.

On the subject of Suarez’s value in today’s transfer market Rodgers stated;

“If you look at the top people in the world, the Ronaldos, the Messis, those who have been doing it for five or six years, he would be right at that level.

“Luis is certainly on his way towards that. His consistency has been phenomenal and what you see now is a more mature player.

“He is a world-class talent. Things evolve and times change. Time will tell.”

On the subject of world-record breakers it’s worth noting Gareth Bale’s efforts since securing an £86m move to the Bernabeu.

The Welsh international netted twice last night during Real Madrid’s 5-0 thumping of Rayo Vallecano and the former Tottenham man has now accrued an astonishing total of 16 goals and 15 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.
