Man United target Toni Kroos has apparently informed friends that he wishes to leave Bayern Munich and move to Old Trafford according to the Daily Star.

The 24 year old German international has been a long term target of Man United boss David Moyes who is now ready to use £40m of his reported £200m summer transfer war-chest in order to tempt the Allianz Arena side to sell one of their star performers.

Kroos is not happy with the terms of a new deal offered by Bayern Munich and with just over a year to run on his current contract one would imagine an offer of £40m would tempt the Bundesliga side, who take on Man United tomorrow night in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final encounter.

Moyes could well do with further freshening up his midfielder and Kroos is one of the best in the business and apparently unhappy with his current salary, said to be in the region of £60k per week and had demanded parity with the likes of Franck Ribery and Philipp Lahm, who are said to be earning as much as £180k a week.

This source claims that Man United will hand Kroos a whopping £200k a week, an offer that may well have left the midfield schemer all the more ready to leave the reigning Champions League holders this summer.

Moyes may well look to conduct something of a midfield clear-out this summer and one wonders what the future holds for the likes of Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher and Shinji Kagawa.
