Thohir was said to be in the stands as Chelsea overcame the French giants 2-0 on Tuesday evening after targeting the Nigerian as a realistic transfer target this summer.

The 26-year-old is said to be unfavoured by Blues boss Jose Mourinho this season, making just nine appearances during the Special One’s second spell back at Stamford Bridge.

Thohir is developing relationships with a number of Premier League clubs ahead of a planned summer overhaul at San Siro.

Inter have already secured a deal to sign Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic on a free transfer at the end of the season and already have designs on more Premier League stars this summer.

Mikel is a major target, while they are also said to be in the market for a new striker with both Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Chelsea’s Fernando Torres both believed to have been watched this season.
