The French right-back has been in ongoing talks with his Emirates Stadium employers for some months and with his current deal set to expire in a matter of weeks it appears Arsene Wenger may be close to tying down Sagna to a fresh deal.
Sagna is said to be close to agreeing a £75k a week deal that runs for two years with an option of a third as well as a number of other inducements that make up for the fact that the offer falls short of his initial £100k a week demands.
The 31 year old is into his seventh season at the club and has 279 appearances for Arsenal since his £8m move from Auxerre in July 2007.
Both Liverpool and Man City are thought to be keen on Sagna as well as a number of club’s from across Europe though Wenger will hope that the consistent performer will remain at the club beyond the current campaign.
