Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking the 21 year old striker for some months but now knows he must step-up his pursuit and will make a bid in the region of £10m in the coming weeks as he looks to strengthen his Arsenal attack.

Morata has started just two La Liga fixtures this term but has still managed to net half a dozen goals though a lack of first team action may convince the Spanish Under 21 international to consider his options and a move to the Premier League may tempt the youngster.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti hopes to retain Morata’s services stating recently;

“Morata has been doing a great job this season. I hope he will stay at Madrid. We need him. He has the potential to be close to Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Wenger has overly relied upon Olivier Giroud and with both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott missing significant chunks of the season with injury is has been abundantly clear that the north London side lack options in the final third.
