The Daily Mirror reports that Southampton skipper Adam Lallana, who has reportedly had a £25m bid rejected for him from Liverpool, will now have to force his way out of St.Mary’s.
The 26-year old star is with the England national team preparing for the World Cup, and has clearly indicated that he wants to play with world class players and hinted at a possible switch to Anfield to play in the Champions League.
Southampton though are adamant about not wanting to let one of their youth products go, and are demanding around £30m for his signature since 25 percent of any fee must go to Lallana’s previous club Bournemouth.
The Reds are desperate to bring Lallana to Anfield, who would inject goals, creativity and assists into the midfield.
Last term with the Saints he announced himself as one of the most exciting players in the top flight – and liverpool want to add him to the squad to aid next term’s Champions League campaign.
It remains to be seen though whether the England international, who recently signed a new long term deal with the Saints would go so far as to submit a transfer request to move to Liverpool and reunite with recently transferred Southampton striker Rickie Lambert.
