Liverpool starlet ready to impress at Anfield after loan switch with Championship side.
Liverpool’s 21-year old defender Andre Wisdom believes that he will return to Anfield a better player after enjoying a good loan spell at Championship side Derby County.
The England youth international made 38 appearances for Steve McClaren’s side this past season after being loaned out by the Reds, and he feels enriched after playing regularly for the former England boss.
Speaking about his loan spell at Derby, Wisdom told the Daily Star, “I have had a brilliant time at Derby County and every minute of it has been a real pleasure.
“The aim was to come out and play games and I have done that for the last seven months.
“Under Steve McClaren, I think I have grown as a player and a person and when I report back at Liverpool for pre-season training, I’ll be a better player for the brilliant experience I have had.”
Wisdom is a versatile defender, who can play at both centre back and right back, and may have a role to play for his boss Brendan Rodgers, who is looking for more defensive reinforcements ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League next season.
Whether Wisdom has improved enough to get back into the reckoning for a place in the Reds’ side remains to be seen, but he certainly is seen as one of the most talented young players at the club.
