Incoming Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is considering a move to sign Ajax left-back Daley Blind according to the Sunday People.

Blind provided a superb assist for Robin Van Persie’s brilliantly headed goal against Spain and put in a solid display on the left flank and could perhaps be ready for a fresh challenge.

Daley, son of former Ajax great Danny, Blind has represented Ajax since the age of eight and the 24 year old has won four successive Eredivise titles and may be tempted by a move to Man United.

Ajax would look to secure around £12m from the sale of the one club man and that’s a fee well worth investing in the Dutchman, who could be the ideal man to replace veteran left-back Patrice Evra.

Man United had been heavily linked with a very real interest in Southampton teenager Luke Shaw but considering the St Mary’s side are said to be after as much as £30m for the 18 year old perhaps van Gaal would do better to turn his attention to Blind.

Van Gaal is reportedly set to be handed as much as £220m to invest in his Man United squad this summer.
