Wolfsburg submit bid for Real Madrid striker.Arsenal could miss out as Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have made a £15.9m bid to Real Madrid for young striker Alvaro Morata, according to the Independent.
The 21-year-old is the subject of much interest from around Europe this season after emerging as one of the most promising young talents currently coming through at the Bernabeu, though vast competition for places in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad looks to have made him available for the right price this summer.
The likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the player in the past, but Wolfsburg may now be the favourites to get their hands on him as they make a big offer to Real.
The Spanish giants have previously suggested that they would hold out for over £20m for Morata, but could also accept lower offers if a buy-back clause is included as part of the deal.
Wolfsburg are currently offering slightly more than Juventus, though it is thought that the young Spaniard would favour a move to Turin as he wants to be playing in the Champions League next season, so there could still be another twist in this long-running transfer saga.
Morata has a record of 11 goals in 52 appearances for Real Madrid, despite often being a substitute for Los Blancos.
