Crystal Palace have been linked with a bid to bring their former star Wilfried Zaha back to the club from Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

The 21-year-old has barely featured for the Red Devils since making a £15m move to the club in January 2013, initially returning to Palace on loan for the remainder of their promotion season last year, and then making another temporary move away by joining Cardiff City for the second half of this season.

Despite previously being regarded as one of the most promising young players in England, Zaha’s career is in serious danger of stalling, and the winger may be tempted to try getting things back on track by returning to his previous employers.

Zaha came through the youth ranks at Selhurst Park and may feel a move back would be the best thing for him to continue his development at the moment, with first-team opportunities arguably looking even more unlikely this season as new manager Louis van Gaal reportedly plots some big-name signings for his squad.

Initially signed for United by Sir Alex Ferguson, Zaha did not seem to feature in David Moyes’ plans this season and van Gaal may also not be too impressed by him, as he didn’t stand out whilst on loan with Cardiff either.

It is thought that Palace will begin their efforts to bring in the England Under-21 international when manager Tony Pulis returns from World Cup media work in Brazil.
