Argentina gem could be poised to move to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid and Argentina midfielder Angel Di Maria has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

The Daily Star have published a claim from Spanish newspaper MARCA stating that the 26-year-old is close to joining the Red Devils on a £150,000-a-week contract.

Providing the two clubs agree a fee, Di Maria could become United’s third signing of the summer, after Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao and Luke Shaw from Southampton.

Real apparently value Di Maria at around £40m, while United see him as more of a £30m player.

Di Maria is currently nursing a thigh injury in the hope of being fit to represent Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final against Germany.

The Rosario-born star played 34 La Liga games last season, scoring four goals.

He was La Liga’s top assister last term, laying on 17 goals for his teammates.

Di Maria played a key role in Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 11 European games, including May’s final win over Atletico Madrid.

Real signed Di Maria from Benfica in June 2010. He has won one La Liga title, two Copa del Reys, one Supercopa de Espana and one Champions League during his four years at the Bernabeu.
