Spurs fans are the only set of Premier League supporters whose club are yet to witness their club making a summer signing, but they could forgive their new manager the wait if Mauricio Pochettino pulls this one off…

According to talkSPORT, the White Hart Lane club are on red alert after title winning manager Antonio Conte quit Juventus, and former AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri was appointed.

Interestingly, Allegri fell out with legendary Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who was released on a free in 2011 by Allegri’s Milan outfit. Since then, the 35-year-old has won three consecutive Italian titles, confirming his reputation as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.

Naturally, Spurs are now considering tempting Pirlo out of Italy for the first time in his career, should the relationship with Allegri be complicated enough for him to demand a move away from Turin.

Pirlo’s a beautiful passer of the footballer, and one of the most deadly components of the free-kick the game has ever seen. Although he’s physically relatively immobile now, his technical ability is at the level where he’ll still be an outlet for any team.
