Old Trafford side could benefit from Bernabeu side’s ongoing pursuit of Colombian World Cup star.
Real Madrid’s ongoing chase to sign AS Monaco star James Rodriguez could work in Man United’s favour with talkSPORT claiming that the Old Trafford side could ‘steal’ winger Angel di Maria, a long term target of the Premier League side.

PSG are also said to be pursuing the 26 year old Argentine and it’s a move that will not come cheap with this source claiming it would take a bid in the region of €60m (£47m) to land the former Benfica man.
Di Maria finished last term as Real Madrid’s leading assist-maker, this despite a more limited role in the first team due to the arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham.
Now Carlo Ancelotti’s pursuit of Rodriguez looks likely to lead to further constraints on Angel di Maria and therefore an exit from the La Liga side seems entirely plausible.
New boss Louis van Gaal may well feel that di Maria can offer more from a wide-attacking role than the likes of Luis Antonio Valencia, Nani, Ashley Young and even perhaps Juan Mata, but it will seemingly take a club record bid to land the Real Madrid star this summer.
Di Maria moved to the Spanish capital in June 2010 and has scored 36 goals and provided a massive 87 assists in 189 appearances for Real Madrid.
