Chelsea midfielder Andre Schurrle has given his Instagram followers a glimpse of what a World Cup winners’ medal looks like close up.

The 23-year-old provided the cross from which Mario Gotze scored the winning goal for Germany in their 1-0 win over Argentina in the final of the FIFA super tournament.

In total, Schurrle made six World Cup appearances, all as a substitute.

He scored three goals, two of which came during the 7-1 thrashing of Brazil in the semis.

Schurrle joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen for £18m last summer.

He netted eight times and made two assists in 30 Premier league games during his debut campaign in England, and will be keen to impress in the coming campaign.
