Legendary Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is set to continue his international career with England after signing for Manchester City on a six-month loan deal, with the Daily Star reporting that Lampard has no intention of hanging up his international boots after leaving Stamford Bridge.

Lampard was on the periphery of England’s World Cup campaign, featuring only in the final dead rubber against Costa Rica, but clearly feels that he is still has something to offer to Roy Hodgson and has opted not to follow in the footsteps of former captain Steven Gerrard, who retired from international football following the World Cup.

Lampard signed for MLS expansion club New York City FC after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer and shocked the football world this week when he signed for the Blues’ Premier League rivals Manchester City on a six-month loan deal, with Manuel Pellegrini’s club having close links with Lampard’s new MLS outfit.

Lampard has picked up 106 caps for his country, putting him in the top ten of all-time – and he could move past the likes of Ashley Cole and Bobby Moore with just a couple more appearances for the Three Lions.

England kick off their qualifying campaign for the 2016 European Championships with a trip to Switzerland in September, following a home friendly against Norway, both of which Lampard will seemingly be hoping to be involved in.
