Richards made just ten appearances for the Premier League champions last season, and has now also just entered the final year of his contract with the club.

The England international has been dogged by injuries and a loss of form, which have all culminated in him losing his place in the side recently.

And while the club are willing to listen to offers for the player, they are still waiting on a sensible offer to come their way.

Roma are eyeing a cut-price deal for the full-back and are assessing options to sign the England international, according to reports in Italy.

It is believed that an offer of around £4m would be bough to convince Manuel Pellegrini to take any potential suitors seriously.

The 26-year-old is a product of Manchester City’s youth academy and has made 246 appearances for the club.
