Guarin appears to be United boss Louis van Gaal’s plan B with a move for Juventus star Arturo Vidal failing but the Colombian wants to make the move to Old Trafford.

And according to reports in Italy Zenit have put a firm offer on the table to land his signature, only he isn’t keen on a move to Russia and is instead holding out for a better offer.

Reports of a meeting with his agent, Marcelo Ferreyra, and club chiefs have resulted in him telling Inter that he wants to play for Louis Van Gaal.

There is further good news for the Red Devils as the reports suggest Inter president Erick Thohir has lowered his asking price for the 28-year-old to just £10m.

The midfielder was a part of the squad to beat Stjarnan FC 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday, though he failed to get off the bench.

Both Hamburg and Sevilla are also interested in his services, though a formal offer has yet to materialise.
