Man United are to launch a final bid for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal with the Metro claiming that the Old Trafford side will offer £42m plus Javier Hernandez in exchange for the Chilean international.

Dutch boss Louis van Gaal is seemingly desperate to land the 27 year old playmaker but will not sanction another bid if this latest move is turned down by the Serie A side.

Vidal has played a pivotal role in his side’s three successive domestic title triumphs and impressed at the summer World Cup finals and is a player Man United would dearly like to land before the transfer window slams shut.

Van Gaal could well do with some more guile and attacking intent in his midfield and Vidal could be the ideal man for the job, the former Bayer Leverkusen man netting 28 goals in 95 domestic fixtures for Juventus.

The inclusion of Javier Hernandez into the deal may tempt the Italian side into action though one wonders where the Mexican would fit into the club’s starting eleven considering the presence of Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez.

Man United have thus far signed Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo this summer but further arrivals may be imminent.
