Reds still keen on AS Monaco star.

Liverpool remain keen on a deal for striker Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco, report the Star, despite a deal to bring AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli to Anfield looking to be imminent.
The report suggests that a prospective move for free agent Samuel Eto’o has collapsed due to the former Chelsea man’s exorbitant wage demands, meaning that Rodgers has cast his eye back towards Falcao – although the Colombian star is also likely to command significant wages, as well as a huge loan fee to secure his services for the season.
It is also suggested that another obstacle to any Liverpool move may be the interest of Serie A champions Juventus, who are also weight up a deal to take the unsettled former Atletico Madrid man to Turin on a season-long loan deal.
Liverpool boss Rodgers has spent much of the summer looking to secure a top class attacking replacement for the Barcelona-bound Luis Suarez – but he may be continuing his search due to the unpredictability of Balotelli, with a potential loan move for Falcao giving the Reds a safety net if the Italian’s disciplinary issues continue.
The Reds face Manchester City on Monday evening, looking to build on their opening day victory over Southampton in a scrappy match at Anfield.
