The 26 year old is down Man United’s striking pecking order and with van Gaal set to welcome in Angel di Maria it appears that Chicharito is nearing the end of his time at the Premier League side.

Serie A title holders had been keen on bringing in Arsenal star Lukas Podolski but that move looks set to be shelved as Arsene Wenger opts to keep hold of the German due to the lengthy spell Olivier Giroud looks set for following his foot injury.

Hernandez started just six Premier League fixtures last term but injuries led to Louis van Gaal to starting with the Mexican in Man United’s opener with Swansea City, only to be hauled off at half-time after an ineffective display.

A move to Juventus could lead to another struggle for regular action given the presence of Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez in the Italian giants attack.

Javier Hernandez has scored 59 goals in 153 appearances for Man United, 69 of which were from the bench.
