Juventus are being tipped to win the race to sign AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao ahead of Manchester City, according to an Italian football insider on Twitter.
Dhubai-based journalist Tarek Khatib has tweeted about the ongoing Falcao saga, with the in-demand Colombian international being linked with a whole host of top clubs in the final few days of the summer transfer window, in a deal that could go right down to the wire.
Reports emerged yesterday that Manchester City could be the favourites to land the 28-year-old, though the player himself was later seen tweeting that he’d joined Real Madrid, before the post was deleted.
Khatib now claims that Juventus are the leading contenders to sign Falcao, with Financial Fair Play regulations delaying City’s bid to bring him in, as they need to offload Alvaro Negredo before they can make a big-name signing upfront.
Although Juve are happy to spend £20m to take the former Atletico Madrid man on loan for the season, City want to pay up around £60m to sign him on a permanent deal.

Arsenal have also been mentioned as among the clubs interested in snapping up Falcao before the transfer deadline.
