QPR are close to signing Tottenham midfielder Sandro on a season long loan, Goal.com reports.

Hoops boss Harry Redknapp is looking to bring in a player who he worked with while he was Spurs manager. Redknapp is hopeful that a deal can be agreed before the transfer window closes tonight.

Sandro is desperate to play first team football after finding himself out of favour at White Hart Lane under new Spurs boss Manuel Pochettino.

The Brazilian defensive midfielder would be willing to move to Loftus Road but it is believed he favours a move to Italian side Napoli.

Sandro isn’t the only Spurs player that Redknapp is interested in signing with Aaron Lennon also reportedly on his wish list. The former Portsmouth boss is desperately trying to agree a permanent deal for Lennon but he appears to be struggling at the moment with the winger reluctant to move to QPR and Spurs demanding a transfer fee that the Hoops are unwilling to pay.

While Redknapp is looking to sign Sandro and Lennon he is also interested in being re-united with Jermaine Defoe. Redknapp needs to sign a replacement for Loic Remy and Defoe is reportedly the 67 year old’s number one target.
