Radamel Falcao says he is excited at the prospect of linking up with new team-mate Angel Di Maria at Manchester United this season, according to the Daily Mail.
The Colombian international completed a deadline day move to Old Trafford, arriving at the club on a season-long loan deal from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco to complete an exciting summer in the transfer market for United.
New manager Louis van Gaal has also welcomed in Di Maria from Real Madrid in a club-record deal, along with the likes of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind.
Although strikers Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck both left on deadline day, United will be delighted with the big-name arrival of Falcao, and the player himself is also pleased to have made the move to United after months of negotiations.
Although the 28-year-old was also linked with a host of other top clubs such as Real Madrid, he insists he is proud to be a United player and is particularly looking forward to linking up with Argentine winger Di Maria at the club, saying he loves his style of play.
Speaking ahead of Colombia’s friendly against Brazil, he said: “I am very proud to be at Manchester United. We have been in talks with the club for some months and, in the end, we were able to reach an agreement with Monaco on the last day of the transfer deadline.”
