The striker moved from QPR to Stamford Bridge in a £10.5 million deal during the final days of the summer and has only scored one goal for his new club after finding first team opportunities hard to come by due to the performances of one of the Blues other new arrivals, Diego Costa.

Although Remy has continued to get game time for France and scored in Les Blues 3-0 win over Armenia on Monday night, journalist Pierre Menes doesn’t think the 27-year-old’s decision to move to the Premier League table toppers was a good idea.

“Given the game time he is not getting, which will continue to happen at Chelsea I believe it is a pretty bad career choice,” Menes said.

“But that’s another topic. It is clear that he must show something in each of his appearances for France.”

Despite struggling to get in Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side, Menes still thinks Remy should keep his place in the French national side.

“He scored against Spain, he scores again in Armenia, plus a shot against the post,” he added.

“It shows that even in a time of very limited play he is still able to bring something to this team.”
