The experienced Argentine international has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in the past, and is now considered a top target for Brendan Rodgers as he seeks to improve his forward line.

The Reds boss is unhappy with his current options upfront after losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona in the summer, with new signing Mario Balotelli failing to impress at Anfield since his move from AC Milan.

Lavezzi could make a good addition to Rodgers’ side, with the 29-year-old showing himself to be a top performer during his time in Serie A with Napoli, even if he hasn’t quite found his best form during his time with PSG.

Still, Lavezzi has had plenty of competition for places at the Parc des Princes, and has not always managed to be a regular in the team, with top class players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Lucas Moura to contend with for a place in the starting lineup.

The player could then welcome the chance to move and try a new challenge.
