QPR Star Rio Ferdinand Banned For Three Games For Offensive Tweet

Queens Park Rangers centre back Rio Ferdinand has been banned for three matches and fined for the use of an offensive term on Twitter.

The former England star, who has almost 6 million followers on the social network, posted the below in response to a fan suggesting his performances for QPR weren’t up to scratch this term.

Ferdinand left Manchester United on a free transfer last summer after a disappointing final season at Old Trafford, and his time at Loftus Road has not gone entirely to plan so far.

As well as being banned for three games, Ferdinand has been fined £25,000 – despite him being member of FA chairman Greg Dyke’s England commission.
