Stamford Bridge side keen on AS Roma forward.

Chelsea are reportedly very keen on AS Roma forward Mattia Destro with the Blues said to be open on offering Fernando Torres in part exchange for the Stadio Olimpico star according to talkSPORT.

Jose Mourinho may feel the need to strengthen his attack given recent injury concerns over new signing Diego Costa and Didier Drogba’s advancing years.

The 23 year old finished as AS Roma’s top Serie A scorer in 2013/14, netting 13 goals despite starting just 14 domestic league fixtures.

Rudi Garcia is seemingly still not entirely confident of Destro’s abilities, offering him just five starts in the club’s opening ten Serie A fixtures, and as such Destro may consider a move away from the Italian capital.

Destro could offer Mourinho further strength in depth up front and could arguably be a better back-up option to French international Loic Remy.

This source values Destro at £20m and that may well be an offer Garcia considers a fair one.
