CSKA Moscow star emerges as Anfield target.
Liverpool are reportedly readying a surprise bid for CSKA Moscow star Alan Dzagoev according to TuttoMercato.
The 24 year old attacking midfielder could be seen as a player who could offer Brendan Rodgers a fresh injection of creativity to a side that has struggled this term and the players £20m price-tag is perhaps within the Anfield side’s budget.
Liverpool spent over £120m on new additions over the summer but are some way off the Premier League title pace and could struggle to even secure a top four finish and as such a move for Dzagoev is an understandable one to consider.
Dzagoev has been dubbed the ‘Russian Messi’ but has perhaps fallen off the radar a tad since coming to the fore during Euro 2012, where he performed wonderfully well and netted three goals to finish as joint top-scorer at the finals.
Dzagoev is into his seventh season at the Arena Khimki side and having won back to back domestic titles in the past two campaigns it’s likely that the diminutive attacker would be open to a fresh challenge.
A move for Dzagoev would however perhaps be a slight on new signings Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana with the cultured Russian international arguably able to operate in roles to which the two summer additions fill.
