(Video) Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson Scores Goal For England U21s: Could On Loan West Ham Star Have Helped Gunners’ Defensive Crisis?

Posted by

England Under-21s are in a fine position in their friendly match against their Portuguese counterparts, with Danny Ings and Carl Jenkinson having scored for the hosts at Turf Moor.

The second goal came from a fine move on the left flank, and after Will Hughes’ low cross evaded everyone in the six yard area, Jenkinson slotted home confidently.

The performance of Jenkinson will prompt many Arsenal fans to wonder whether they might have been better served retaining his services for the season instead of sending him out on loan to West Ham United.

Arsene Wenger’s side are currently engulfed in a defensive crisis, with Nacho Monreal forced to fill in at centre back and Calum Chambers playing at right back when he has looked better in the centre.

Perhaps if Jenkinson makes his case his future may yet lie at Emirates Stadium.
