The 22 year old has been in fine form this term in both the Bundesliga and in Champions League action and Mauricio Pochettino will look to lure the South Korean to White Hart Lane in January.
The £20m rated attacker has been particularly impressive in European action, his three group stage goals helping his side to secure a spot in the knockout stages, which could well mean that the Bayer Leverkusen man is unlikely to quit the club mid-season.
Pochettino has seen his side struggle for goals this term with the likes of Erik Lamela, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado notching up just three Premier League goals between them and only youngster Harry Kane maintaining a consistent impact in the final third.
