Red Devils to table mammoth offer for Bernabeu attacker.
Manchester United have been linked with a staggering £88m bid to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, who may be available for transfer, according to the Daily Express.
The Red Devils spent huge amounts on new players during the summer, and Louis van Gaal could now be working on another major deal to bring in the world class Welsh wide-man.
Bale is already the most expensive player of all time after his £85m move to Real from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013, and an £88m move could see him break his own record.
Although the 25-year-old has performed well in his time in the Spanish capital, it is thought that he is not in Carlo Ancelotti’s long-term plans, with the club expected to move for big names such as Sergio Aguero of Manchester City and Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund with the cash from Bale’s sale.
United also raided Real for the signing of Angel Di Maria this summer, while Javier Hernandez moved in the other direction on loan.
