The 25 year old attacker is reportedly a player Bernabeu president Florentino Perez wants to sell in order to make room for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, with Man United ready to offer £90m for the former Tottenham man.

Such an offer would presumably be amenable to the Spanish giants and in order to help push through such a deal the Premier League side will hand Bale a whopping £300k a week contract.

One wonders quite why Real Madrid would be seeking to sell Bale given the excellent start to this career in the Spanish capital.

In his debut season Bale racked up 22 goals in all competitions, including netting in both their Copa del Rey and Champions League final triumphs, and has played a key role in Carlo Ancelotti’s astounding 20 match winning streak.

Bale has notched up nine goals and four assists in 16 starts in all competitions this term.

One can see why van Gaal would be keen on Bale as he would be a preferable option to the likes of Ashley Young, Luis Antonio Valencia or Juan Mata, with Angel di Maria a regular on the other flank.
