The young Frenchman is expected to be loaned out by the Gunners in January after struggling for games and form for much of this season, scoring just one goal in all competitions.

With the likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order, Sanogo faces a fight to play more regularly and may benefit from some time away from the Emirates Stadium to develop his game and improve his consistency.

Aston Villa, Sunderland and Crystal Palace now seem to be the teams looking at him, and they may look to the 21-year-old as an option as they consider improving their own options upfront this winter.

These sides are all struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League table and will need to improve their squads this term if they hope to ensure survival against relegation.
