Yedlin will join up with Spurs in the New Year.
After much speculation Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that DeAndre Yedlin will be joining them from Seattle Sounders in January.
Spurs signed the right-back in August, but the 21-year-old was unable to link up with his new teammates as he hadn’t yet been granted a work permit.
However, that has now been approved and manager Mauricio Pochettino is looking forward to having Yedlin as part of his squad at White Hart Lane.
“DeAndre is a young player with great potential who has already achieved a lot in Major League Soccer,” Pochettino told the club’s website.
“It is important for his development that he is given the time to adapt to his new surroundings both on and off the pitch and we believe that by coming to us in January it will give him the best opportunity to do so.”
Yedlin signed a four-year contract with Tottenham upon agreeing his move to the Premier League back in the summer.
It has been an impressive year for the USA international, who caught a few eyes with his performances for the national team at the 2014 World Cup.
In fact Yedlin’s displays saw the full-back named US Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year and the American also made the MLS All-Star Team during his first full season in 2013.
