27 year old French international Benzema has most recently been linked with a somewhat unlikely £50m move to Liverpool and many Spanish sources insist that the Bernabeu outfit are desperate to snap up Falcao, who is currently on loan at Man United.

It’s a move that makes little or no sense when judged on current form with Colombian Falcao failing to make a consistent impact at Old Trafford whilst Benzema continues to impress in the Spanish capital.

Benzema has also only recently signed a new five year contract with the La Liga leaders and is a player Carlo Ancelotti clearly values.

Arguably the former Lyon man’s career took a turn for the better when the Italian took charge of Real Madrid, becoming the club’s undisputed first choice central striking weapon following the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli, scoring freely since that point.

Last season Benzema racked up 24 goals in all competitions last term and has scored 14 thus far this term and is only Cristiano Ronaldo has provided more La Liga assists for Real Madrid to boot.
