Serie A giants looking to land Paulinho.

Reigning Serie A champions Juventus are set to offer out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho an exit route from White Hart Lane, report the Mirror, with the Brazilian international’s sorry period in North London looking inreasingly likely to be coming to an end during the January transfer window.

Paulinho has never lived up to the potential that was expected of him when Spurs paid £17 million to Brasileiro outfit Corinthians to land the box-to-box midfielder eighteen months ago and he has become less and less prominent in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the club this season.

The report suggests that interest in Paulinho is high from Serie A, with rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan both interested in taking the player on a loan deal, but Juventus’ desire to put together a package to sign Paulinho permanently could well give them the edge in the race for the player.

Whilst Tottenham are likely to accept that they will not be able to recoup the full fee paid for Paulinho after a disappointing spell in the Premier League, so frustrating has Paulinho been that it is easy to envisage them cutting their losses and allowing him to leave in order to allow Pochettino to continuing stamping his mark on the squad.
