Reports from Belgium news source HLN say Spurs will attempt to begin negotiations this weekend with the Toffees and will make a firm offer for their star man.

Whilst the North London side are eager for the forward, they aren’t willing to break the bank whilst Everton are demanding a hefty transfer fee to approve the deal.

The stalemate could mean Spurs will attempt to use Aaron Lennon as a makeweight in negotiations, though the Merseyside club are, says the report, only interested in a cash offer.

Christophe Henrotay, Mirallas’ agent, sparked rumours of Mirallas’ desire to leave Goodison Park last month when confirming the winger would wait until the summer to negotiate a new deal.

Mirallas’ subsequent performance against West Brom, where he demanded to take a penalty that he subsequently missed before being substituted at half time has only fuelled speculation he is on the way out.

As well as Spurs, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are touted as other clubs interested in his services.
